Cremant D’Alsace Brute Pierre Sparr, France

“In a perfect world, everyone would have a glass of sparkling wine every evening.” – unknown

Varietal Composition: 80% Pinot Blanc, 20% Pinot Auxerrois

This wine is an exceptional value for the elegant taste. Fresh, dry, juicy - showing bright tropical fruit, lively bubbles, balanced, and crisp. The palate adds creaminess, presenting a harmonious, fruity, elegant and light body with a dry finish. It is a lovely aperitif to enjoy before dinner or hors d’ouvres.

It is a very friendly wine to pair with. Delicious with a bite of savory charcuterie from Sprig & Jam, salty cheese from the Salty Cow Cheesemonger, and sweet items that you tend to find on a cheese plate like fruit and jams.

This is an extraordinary everyday wine to celebrate the end of your day and transition to a recharging evening of going out or staying in. This wine does not need to be saved for a special occasion - today is the perfect occasion.

Crémant is a group of sparkling wines made with the same technique as Champagne, but from outside the Champagne region. All Crémant wines must adhere to specific requirements, which include manual harvesting of grapes, whole bunch pressing with limited must extraction, and a minimum of nine months lees aging (Pierre Sparr Cremant has 12-16 months on the lees).

Alsace is located in the foothills of the Vosges Mountains of Northeast France. More than 50% of all French Crémant is made here. Grapes ripen well in Alsace, thanks to the dry, sunny climate made possible by the adjacent mountain shelter. The soils are a mosaic, resulting from alluvial fans, and can support a large array of grape varieties. Crémant de Alsace may be single varietal (and labeled as such), but most are a blend, using Pinot Blanc as the base, such as the Pierre Sparr Cremant.
